Func Texture A Functional Texture is generated automatically by Mes-
sage Compose. the following choices are available:
Lin-
ear
, Wave, Circular, Diamond, Hyperbolic, Spiral,
Star, Radial, Soft1, Soft2 and Soft3. Soft filters reduce
flicker at the expense of sharpness.
Soft1 is medium
softness;
Soft2 is very soft; Soft3 is slightly sharper than
Soft1, and is designed to reduce screen flicker that can
occur in characters that contain thin horizontal serifs.
Experiment with these textures to achieve best results for
your particular application.
In systems configured with the Advanced Font Utility
option,
Glow can be selected as an Edge Texture and
Chisel as a Character Texture. See §13.14.8 and the
Advanced Font Utility Option handbook (Pub. No.
2A01984) for more information.
Transparency Transparency can be applied to a character or its edge
whether or not a texture has been applied. Transparency
range is
0 to 100%.
To set Transparency:
• Highlight the Transparency slider, then press
CLR,
then enter a value between 0 and 100; or press SHIFT
+
Ì or Í to move the slider to its proper position;
or click and drag the slider to its proper position.
Angle Texture Angle applies only to Functional Textures. A
value specified in the
Angle: field causes the Functional
Texture to rotate before it is applied to the character or
edge. For a vertical texture enter a value of
90. For a
diagonal texture, enter a value of about
45. Use the
arrow field methods described in §13.3 to enter an
Angle
value.
Drop Off Transparency Drop Off is the amount the Transparency
drops off from the top to the bottom of the character or
the edge. For example, a drop-off value of
50 would
