iNFiNiT! Family Operation Manual
Revision D 14-21 Buffers & Channels
When a frame buffer is assigned to CHANNEL B, all sin-
gle frame buffer functions such as Read Effects, Rolls,
and Crawls can display on the Third Channel Output.
The Third Channel Output Percentage is always 100%.
Scanline backgrounds (§10.5) cannot be displayed on the
Third Channel Output. However, a frame buffer back-
ground (i.e. erasing the screen to a different color) can be
displayed (§7.2 and §10.5.7). Additionally, Mix Effects
do not display on the Third Channel Output.
The Third Channel Output can be set to prohibit building
a scanline background in CHANNEL B. This protects the
AIR CHANNEL from an accidental background change
when the active buffer is switched to that assigned to
CHANNEL B.
Additionally, the Third Channel Output can be a valuable
addition to systems equipped with the IMAGESTOR!
Recall Keyboard. By dedicating a buffer and the Third
Channel Output exclusively to the IMAGESTOR! Recall
Keyboard, the iNFiNiT! operator(s) can still use CHAN-
NEL A and PREVIEW in either a Single or Dual User
configuration.
1
ALT XFER (§14.10) used in conjunction with the Third
Channel Output can be especially helpful to the Primary
User in a Dual User system. CHANNEL B can be made
to emulate the PREVIEW CHANNEL as follows:
• In the Mix Settings Window in the Mix Effects
(§16.7) or Multiple Effects (§17.5) main menu, set
the Output Percentage level of the buffer assigned to
CHANNEL B to
0 so that CHANNEL B does not
display on AIR.

Output Option (Pub. No. 2A01967) and/or the IMAG
ESTOR! manual
(Pub. No. 2A01987) for more information.
