Buffers & Channels 14-30 Revision D
The following table describes how the CHNG and CNTL
CHNG
functions operate:
.H\VWURNHV )XQFWLRQ
CHNG Moves the cursor and Safe Title Box to the next available
frame buffer, based on the Mix settings (§16.7 and §17.5).
This buffer now becomes the active frame buffer. The
buffer number is displayed on the Message Compose
main menu in the
BUFFER: field. This function does not
manipulate the contents of a frame buffer. The default
switches between the frame buffers assigned to
A AIR
and PREVIEW.
The system chooses the new buffer by cycling through the
CHANNELS A, B and PREVIEW in the following order,
beginning with the assignment directly following the active
buffer assignment: CHANNEL A, CHANNEL B, PRE-
VIEW, CHANNEL A, etc.
CHNG is not operational in one buffer systems and in two
buffer Dual User systems. In three-buffer Dual User sys-
tems, the Primary user can use
CHNG to switch between
buffers 1 and 2. The Secondary user cannot use
CHNG.
CNTL CHNG
1, 2, or 3
Allows you to directly choose the active frame buffer.
When you press
CNTL CHNG, Enter new frame
buffer:
appears on the Prompt Line. Enter the new
frame buffer number using the Address Keypad. The new
active buffer is displayed on the Message Compose main
menu in the
BUFFER: field. This function does not
manipulate the contents of a frame buffer.
CNTL CHNG is not operational in one buffer systems
and in two buffer Dual User systems. In three-buffer Dual
User systems, the Primary user can use
CNTL CHNG to
switch between buffers 1 and 2. The Secondary user can-
not use
CNTL CHNG.
