View files or directories either all or selectively
by type or name.
. Copy files or directories to the same disk or to
another disk.
. Change the ID number and/or name of user-
created files and directories.
. Remove files or directories from any disk in the
system.
. Display file and directory byte size and date of
creation, along with available disk memory.
. Formats and initializes floppies, hard disks, or
optional removable media.
. Searches for faults in a disk’s file structure, and
attempts to repair any that are found.
. . Converts SCRIBE files into iNFiNiT! Family
format, and vice-versa.
. A Drive Configuration table function for
assigning storage devices to the iNFiNiT! Family
systems.
. Lists fragmented files (those whose blocks are
scattered on the disk), and lets you pack them
more efficiently, to reduce file access time.
The system constructs an internal table of the file
name and latest version number information for
all programs in the following directories:
SYSTEM/PROGRAMS, SYSTEM/ETC,
SYSTEM/HELP AND SYSTEM/DRIVERS. If
the system detects a mismatch, a list of the files
is displayed on the Prompts Monitor. This lets
the operator know which files need to be brought
up to date.
