Revision D 6-33 Message Compose Basics
Suspend Activates Suspend function. When Suspend is selected,
the Program Loader menu appears as usual, but the
Mes-
sage Compose
program icon now shows that Message
Compose operation has been suspended (Figure 6-13).
(Message Compose, and all loaded fonts, remain in sys-
tem memory.)
Figure 6-13. Suspended Program Icon
Quit Cancels the Exit process and returns you to Message
Compose where you left off.
While Message Compose is suspended, you can select
and load another program (Disk Utilities, Font Create,
etc.). When finished with that program, press
MODE
SLCT
to return to the Loader menu. Cursor to the Mes-
sage Compose
icon or highlight the icon using the
mouse. Press
or the
SPACE BAR. This returns you to
Message Compose exactly where you left off.
When Message Compose is suspended, the entire operat-
ing environment in the program is saved, including all
currently loaded fonts. Information on both the Edit and
Prompts Monitors is preserved, unless a program that
uses the frame buffers is loaded (i.e. Logo Compose, or
Font Create). When Message Compose is re-entered, the
frame buffers refresh, and Message Compose returns to
where you left off. Message Compose operation can be
suspended indefinitely, although the current operating
environment is not saved if you reboot or turn off the sys-
tem.
Mode Select is also covered in §5.2.
