CHYRON Corporation
Buffers & Channels 14-4 Revision D
CHANNELS
1 and 2
iNFiNiT! and MAX!> Only: CHANNELS 1 and 2 are
the two output channels which contain the final mixes on
iNFiNiT! and MAX!> systems. The connectors for them
are located on the back of the CHYRON chassis. There
are two groups of connectors; one labeled CHANNEL 1
(AIR), and the other CHANNEL 2 (PREVIEW).
There are two connectors outputting each channel, labeled
CHYRON VIDEO and KEY respectively. These outputs
send the 2 channels (AIR and PREVIEW) of mixed video
signals to an external source. The optional Third Channel
Output also outputs to CHYRON VIDEO and KEY connec-
tors.
There is also a connector outputting each channel labeled
COLOR EDIT. These send the 2 channels (AIR and PRE-
VIEW) of the mixed video signals to separate monitors, so
that the CHYRON operator can see both what is on the
AIR CHANNEL and on the PREVIEW CHANNEL. The
optional Third Channel Output also outputs to a COLOR
EDIT connector.
MAXINE!: MAXINE! has one group of the above connec-
tors, as it is a single output system.
MAXINE!
PREVIEW
OUTPUT
The MAXINE! Preview Output option (§14.2) provides a
separate output for the Background buffer of an Extended
Effects Frame Buffer(s) (EEFB), which is displayed on an
additional monitor. This allows you to view the contents of
the Background buffer of the EEFB independently of the
contents of the Foreground buffer. Any text or graphics
messages can be read into the Background buffer. The
Output Percentage level of the MAXINE! Preview Output is
always 100%.
If the MAXINE! Preview Output is present, there is a sec-
ond group of connectors on the back of the chassis. The
MAXINE! Preview Output displays the contents of the
Background buffer of an Extended Effects Frame Buffer at
100% video.
