CHYRON Corporation
Mix Effects 16-22 Revision D
NEL behind all other frame buffer output. In a three-
buffer iNFiNiT! system, this allows you to use buffers 1
and 2 to display messages and buffer 3 to display a back-
ground (e.g. a Still Store image).
When
Bkg Select is active, any images in PREVIEW
(e.g. text, logos, camera capture images), except for a
PREVIEW scanline background (see note below) is
mixed with the outputs of CHANNELS A and B, allow-
ing you to place images from CHANNELS A and/or B
on top of the images from PREVIEW.
Bkg Select is available to the Primary User in a two or
three buffer Dual User system. The image displayed
using
Bkg Select comes from the frame buffer controlled
by the Secondary User. This image cannot be altered by
the Primary User.
Rolls and Crawls can be executed in conjunction with
Bkg Select (§16.14).
NOTE
A scanline background created in
PREVIEW Background RAM (§10.5) is
NOT included in this mix, and cannot
be mixed with the AIR CHANNELS
using this function.
To set up Background Select:
[ ] 1. Assign a frame buffer to CHANNEL A. If you
have three buffers available, you may also
assign a second buffer to CHANNEL B
(§16.7). Assign the remaining buffer to
PREVIEW.
[ ] 2. Set CHANNEL A and CHANNEL B (if
necessary) Output Percentage levels (§16.5.5)
to above
0. Note that PREVIEW has a fixed
Output Percentage level of 100, which cannot
be altered.
