Low Level Format is not usually
necessary. Such a format may be
required for some storage media
(e.g., Magneto Optical media) media
designed for other devices, etc.
As with any formatting process,
all
data is erased from the storage
device when Format is executed.
[ ] 4. Press CNTL X or select Execute to begin
formatting. The following window appears:

• Press N at this point if you wish to abort the
format operation.
[ ] 5. Press
Y to confirm. (A second confirmation
request appears. Press
Y again to start the
formatting.)
The prompts
FORMATTING DISK, INITIALIZING DISK
appears during the respective processes. When format-
ting and initialization are complete the prompt
FORMAT-
TING COMPLETE
appears.
The disk now contains a default MESSAGE and FONT
directory, (
C/INFINIT, C/MAX or C/MAXINE) and a SYS-
TEM directory. It is ready for use in storing programs,
files, and fonts. Use the
Directory function in the Mes-
sage Compose main menu to create additional Message
directories.
ALL FILES WILL BE LOST
