Configuring a Layer 2 Protocol to be Tunneled in ACX Series
You can configure L2PT only on Layer 2 ports. To configure L2PT, you must specify any
of the following protocols that is to be tunneled:
•
cdp—Cisco Discovery Protocol.
•
stp—All versions of the spanning-tree protocol.
•
vtp—Tunnel the VLAN trunk protocol.
•
ieee802.1x—Tunnel the IEEE 802.1X authentication
•
ieee802.3ah—Tunnel the IEEE 802.3ah Operation, Administration, and Maintenance
(OAM) link fault management (LFM)
•
elmi—Tunnel the Ethernet local management interface protocol
•
lacp—Tunnel the Link Aggregation Control Protocol
•
lldp—Tunnel the Link Layer Discovery Protocol
•
mmrp—Tunnel the Multiple MAC Registration Protocol
•
mvrp—Tunnel the Multiple VLAN Registration Protocol
To specify the protocol that will be tunneled by the Layer 2 protocol tunneling, you can
include the protocol (cdp | stp | vtp | ieee802.1x | ieee802.3ah | elmi | lacp | lldp | mmrp |
mvrp) statement at the [edit protocols layer2-control mac-rewrite interface ge-fpc/pic/port]
hierarchy level.
NOTE: When CDP, STP, VTP, IEEE 802.1x, IEEE 802.3ah, E-LMI, LACP, LLDP,
MMRP, or MVRP is configured for tunneling on a customer-facing port in a
provider bridge, the corresponding protocol should not be enabled for
operation on that interface.
