Example command:
configure slot 12 shutdown
The following occurs:
The module is taken OOS.
The spare/redundant module takes over the OOS module’s function.
3. Verify that the module is now OOS, and that the redundant/spare module is now active by displaying the status of all
of the modules as follows:
show linecard status
An output similar to the following example will result:
Diagnosing Modules
The procedure that follows can be used to verify new, replaced, or repaired modules, or to test suspected faulty modules.
Note: The simplest diagnostic mode is to run all of the diagnostics for a given slot.
To Diagnose Modules
Before proceeding, ensure that the Take Module Out-of-Service (page 1024) procedure has already been performed.
To Diagnose a Module
Perform the following:
1. Run all diagnostics for a slot by executing a form of the following command:
configure diag <0-20> [<parameters>]
Example command:
configure diag 11
An output similar to the following example will result:
Slot 11: Resetting card to enter Diagnostic mode
Slot 11: Please wait while card is being reset
Slot 11: Please wait while card is being reset
