configure interface cable-upstream * cable databackoff
The DOCSIS®-specified method of contention resolution for cable modems used to send data or request data on the upstream
channel is a truncated binary exponential back-off with an initial back-off window and a maximum back-off window controlled by
the C4 CMTS.
configure interface cable-upstream <slot/ch[.0]> databackoff {<0-16>-<0-16>}
Parameters
The upstream slot/channel[.logical channel]. It will assume lc=0 if needed and not supplied.
This is a binary exponential algorithm which sets the start and end value for the data backoff. The valid range is 0 to 16. The default
settings are 2-8.
Where:
The first <0-16> is the valid range for the start value
The second <0-16> is the valid range for the end value.
You must enter the start and end values separated by a dash. The start value must be less than or equal to the end value.
