configure cable spectrum-group 5 state 4 trigger 20 no
configure cable spectrum-group 5 state 6 trigger 10 no
configure cable spectrum-group 5 state 5 trigger 10 no
configure cable spectrum-group 5 state 5 trigger 20 no
4. Delete the state:
configure cable spectrum-group 5 state 5 no
5. Add the appropriate triggers, which are now between states 4 and 6:
configure cable spectrum-group 5 state 4 trigger 10 next-state 6
configure cable spectrum-group 5 state 6 trigger 25 next-state 4
6. Enable the modified state machine on the upstream channel:
configure interface cable-upstream <slot>/<port> cable spectrum-group <SM_ID>
Assume the upstream channel was not in the deleted state 5 at the time the state machine was deactivated. When the
trigger is re-enabled, the upstream channel stays in the lowest numbered state that matches the current upstream channel
center frequency, modulation profile, and channel width. If there is no such match, the channel goes to the first state
(lowest numbered state) that does not fail a SCM crosscheck.
State Machine Crosschecks
The C4/c CMTS performs crosschecks to prevent the Upstream Agility feature from introducing inconsistencies and
conflicts that would have a negative impact on performance. These system crosschecks are carried out by the SCM and
form a set of operational rules. These are the primary crosschecks:
The trigger ID must be unique. Trigger IDs must be in the range of 1 to 64.
The identifier of each state (state_ID) in an Upstream Agility state machine must be unique. A state_ID must be in the
range of 1 to 16.
The frequency, channel width and modulation profile must be valid and exist at the point in time in which the
Upstream Agility state is defined.
Changes to a state machine are allowed only if it is not assigned to an upstream, whether the upstream is active or not.
The value for the SM_ID must be in the range of 1 to 40.
An Upstream Agility state machine must contain at least one state before the state machine can be assigned to an
upstream channel.
Deleting a modulation profile referenced by a state in any Upstream Agility state machine is not allowed. The system
does not remove the modulation profile and provides a message that it is in use by an Upstream Agility state machine.
