Use this command to assign a domain name to a DHCP client.
domain-name domain
Syntax Description
Command Syntax of the “no” Form
The “no” form of this command deletes a DHCP domain name:
no ip dhcp domain-name domain
Command Type
Router command.
Command Mode
Any DHCP configuration mode.
Command Defaults
None.
Example
This example shows how to assign the “mycompany.com” domain name to the “localpool” address
pool:
domain Specifies a domain name string.
Matrix>Router1(config)#ip dhcp pool localpool
Matrix>Router1(config-dhcp-pool)#domain-name mycompany.com
