INTERFACE <NAME>
interface <name> <slot/port::subinterface-id>
DESCRIPTION
This command is entered in the Configuration Mode. This command enables you
to configure a sub-interface on a Gigabit Ethernet interface. This enters the S-
ICM. The range for sub-interface is 1 to 4094. VLAN encapsulation is supported
on GigE in the form of GigE sub-interfaces.
PARAMETERS

ALU(config)# interface GigabitEthernet 3/0:1
ALU(config-subif GigabitEthernet3/0:1)#
IP ADDRESS
ip address {<ip-address subnet-mask>|<ip-address/prefix-
length>}
DESCRIPTION
This command is entered in the Interface Configuration Mode to configure the IP
address for the interface.
PARAMETERS
DEFAULT VALUE
None.
EXAMPLE
ALU(config-if GigabitEthernet3/0)# ip address 20.20.20.20/24
Parameter Description
slot/port::subinterface-id Slot and port number of the interface and
the sub-interface number.
Parameter Description
ip-address subnet-mask IP address with subnet mask.
ip-address/prefix-length IP address with prefix length.
