ENCAPSULATION
encapsulation {frame-relay|ppp|hdlc|mlfr <bundle_id>|mlppp
<bundle_id>}
DESCRIPTION
This command is entered in the Interface Configuration Mode to set encapsulation
on the serial interface.
PARAMETERS
DEFAULT VALUE
Default is HDLC.
EXAMPLE
The following example sets the encapsulation to FR:
ALU(config-if Serial0/0)# encapsulation frame-relay
Parameter Description
frame-relay Sets the encapsulation to Frame Relay.
ppp Sets the encapsulation to Point to Point
Protocol.
hdlc Sets the encapsulation to High Level
Data Link Control.
mlfr <bundle_id> Sets the encapsulation to Multi-link
Frame Relay.
mlppp <bundle_id> Sets the encapsulation to Multi-link
Point-Point Protocol.
