Commands for Status Monitoring and Statistics
configure sflow backoff-threshold
configure sflow backoff-threshold <rate>
Description
Configures the maximum number of packets sent to the sFlow collector per second.
Syntax Description
Default
The default backoff threshold rate is 0 packets per second.
(
Usage Guidelines
This command is used to limit the number of packets sent to the sFlow collector in a second. If the
number of packets sent to the collector exceeds this limit, the sampling rate will be doubled. Note that a
packets
value of 0 (zero) disables the backoff threshold feature.
Use the following command to reset the sFlow backoff threshold value to 0 (zero):
unconfigure sflow backoff-threshold
Example
The following command specifies that the sFlow backoff threshold should be set to a maximum of 256
packets per second:
configure sflow backoff-threshold 256
If the number of packets sent to the sFlow collector exceeds a rate of 256 packets per second then the
sampling rate will be doubled. Another example: if a sampling rate of 512 is exceeded, then the
sampling rate will be doubled to 1024.
