PREFACE
Thank you for purchasing and developing systems using SHARC® pro-
cessors from Analog Devices.
Purpose of This Manual
The ADSP-214xx SHARC Processor Hardware Reference contains informa-
tion about the DSP architecture and DSP assembly language for these
processors. These are 32-bit, fixed- and floating-point digital signal pro-
cessors from Analog Devices for use in computing, communications, and
consumer applications.
Intended Audience
The primary audience for this manual is a programmer who is familiar
with Analog Devices processors. This manual assumes that the audience
has a working knowledge of the appropriate processor architecture and
instruction set. Programmers who are unfamiliar with Analog Devices
processors can use this manual, but should supplement it with other texts
(such as the appropriate hardware reference manuals and data sheets) that
describe your target architecture.
