PROFINET
Commands
Introduction
Overview This chapter provides an alphabetical reference of commands used to configure
PROFINET.
PROFINET is a field bus open standard for data communication over Industrial
Ethernet. PROFINET control and complexity exceeds older field bus systems like
MODBUS.
The PROFINET Protocol suite interacts with and also specifies custom settings and
profiles for other protocols. Amongst these are MRP, SNMP, and LLDP as well as
using base 802.1Q facilities. PROFINET has different conformance classes for
required features. The AlliedWare Plus™ implementation is:
• for an IO device with Conformance Class B (CC-B), which requires port
configuration, alarms, SNMP, LLDP support, and optional MRP support.
